Plastira's Lake

Plastira's Lake, 25 km from Keramario, is a magnet for thousands of visitors all year round as it has, apart from its dreamlike beauty, a multitude of impressive sights. In the area you will find religious monuments of great cultural and architectural interest, monasteries, museums, the dam, the botanical garden, the Agrafa Mountaineering Refuge, arched bridges and caves as well as breathtaking panoramic views of Plastira's Lake.

The Pyli-Elati-Pertouli Route

The uniquely beautiful route Pyli - Elati - Pertouli in Pindos with the forests and the clear waters of Aspropotamos. The bridge of Pyli was built in 1514. It is the second largest single-arch stone bridge in Thessaly with a length of 67 m and a maximum height of 30.5 m. Important religious monuments in the area are the Byzantine church of Porta-Panagia from 1238 AD and the Monastery of Agios Vissarionos. Elati is one of the most cosmopolitan places in Pindos and finally the area of Pertouli is a tourist area with a ski resort.

Lake Stefaniada

About two km from the Monastery of Spilia is the small lake Stefaniada, which was formed by precipitation of the soil in 1963-64 and the creation of a basin that slowly filled with water, has a surface area of only 175 acres. It is drowned in greenery with relatively steep shores and a level affected by seasonal rains. Lake Stefaniada is a special case because, although formed by natural causes, it has similar characteristics to artificial dam lakes due to its young age.

Waterfall "Kakavaki"

With your visit to our place, the first thing you will realize is that the natural environment of Keramario is full of small and beautiful secrets that invite you to discover them. Very close, almost 10 minutes walk from our houses, through a fairy-tale alley is the hidden, small and enchanting waterfall called "Kakavaki", ideal for anyone who wants to cool off during the summer days, for those who want to discover nature and for photography lovers.

The Meteora

Meteora, 50 km from Keramario, is a cluster of huge dark-coloured sandstone rocks that rise outside Kalambaka, near the first elevations of Pindos and Chassia. The monasteries of Meteora, built on the tops of some of the rocks, are today the second most important monastic complex in Greece, after Mount Athos. Of the thirty that existed historically, only seven are in operation today, which, since 1988, have been included in UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites.

The Holy Trinity Monastery of Drakotrypa

In Drakotrypa and at an altitude of 800 meters overlooking the mountain peaks of Tympanos and Karavoula, an important monument of Agrafa is preserved, the Athonite monastery of Agia Triada. It was built in 1743 and illustrated in 1758 by the painter Theodore, a priest from Agia Larissa.During the Turkish occupation, great Greeks passed through it, among whom was G. During the Ottoman period, during the Turkish occupation, the Turkish people were influenced by G.G. Karaiskakis and Cosmas the Aetolian. The church of St. John the Baptist (1741) is of the same era as the monastery.

The I.M. of St. George of Mavrommatio

The monastery of Agios Georgios (Karaiskakis) Mavrommatiou, located just 2 km from the village, was one of the most important monasteries of the region during the Turkish occupation. The foundation of the monastery dates back to about 1550, while its frescoes date back to 1657.
Through a forest road and 2.5 km south of the monastery one can reach the cave, where Karaiskakis was born in 1782. Next to it is the famous cave "Korakofolia".

The I.M. of Panagia Spiliotissa

In the beautiful mountain range of Agrafa, near the village of Koumbouriana, we can see the Monastery of Panagia Spiliotissa, dedicated to the Zoodocho Pigi. The Holy Monastery of Spilias is under the jurisdiction of the Holy Metropolis of Thessaliotis and Fanariofarsala. It is built in the countryside of a rock at an altitude of 800m. Between the fir-covered slopes it looks like a blue stone thrown into the green of Agrafa and the view from the road is excellent. It is as if it has hung from the steep cliff and is awe-inspiring to the pilgrim.
